I am influenced by the richness of Pre-Columbian and African art; the decoration of terracotta vessels of Central and South America, the geometric patterns of mud-cloth art by the Bogolan people from Mali and the boldness of the abstract textile weaving of the Bakuba tribes in the Congo.

 

Using a limited  palette of slips and glazes, my slab built vessels are a modern interpretation of the these traditional works of art.
